History of Rajkot Stadium
Saurashtra Cricket Association wanted a state-of-the-art cricket ground of international standard to replace the now old Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground. It was some 30 acres of land, allocated in 2004 near the Jamnagar Highway at Rajkot’s limits. It broke ground in 2006 and was finished in 2009.
